Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is Sure Thing Roof Contractor licensed, bonded, and insured? Can I have a copy, please?

Yes. We provide a credential packet with current insurance and licensing information for each and every customer.

What are your procedures for protecting my landscaping, pool, gutters?

Proper staging of the work area is important. Our crews will move outdoor furniture and personal items away from decks and patios where shingles may fall. Heavy duty tarpaulin will then be placed around the perimeter of the home, over pools, and landscaping. Our ladders are equipped with guards that protect fascia, soffit, and gutters.

What is your workmanship warranty? Will you provide that to me in writing?

Alongside a lifetime shingle manufacturer warranty, we provide a written five (5) year labor warranty with every roof replacement project.

How long will it take?

For an average sized home, a reroof project takes one to two days from start to finish.

How long have you been in business?

Yes. Our office is located in Peachtree City GA and we proudly serve Fayette and all surrounding counties.

Do you use ice and water shield? If so, where do you use it?

We install ice and water shield in valleys, at penetrations, and facets of low pitched roofs. This allows us to offer extended shingle warranties and maintain our shingle manufacturer accreditation.

What shingle manufacturers do you use and are you certified by them? Can you show me your certifications?

Storm Doctors AKA Sure Thing Roofing Contractor is an Atlas Pro Plus Select contractor. A current certification form is included in a credential packet provided to each and every client.

What is your cleanup process? Do you use a magnet?

In the past 7 years we have worked all over metro Atlanta from Fayetteville to Newnan and from Douglasville to McDonough.

Do you replace the existing flashing or do you reuse it?

Properly installed chimney, step, and end wall flashings are crucial to a quality roofing system. Damaged flashing must ALWAYS be replaced.

Can you help me with my insurance claim?

Yes! We can properly document the storm damages and prepare an Xactimate estimate for your claims adjuster. We have HAAG certified roof inspectors and Xactimate trained estimators ready to assist.

What is the average cost for roof replacement?

When it comes time to replace your roof, the cost will vary depending on a number of factors. The average roof replacement cost is between $5,000 and $10,000, but this can range from as little as $1,500 to as much as $20,000 or more. The size of your roof, the type of roofing material you choose, the complexity of the installation, and the labor costs in your area will all play a role in determining the final price. However, roof replacement is an important investment that can help to protect your home from weather damage and improve its energy efficiency. As such, it is important to consider all of your options before making a final decision.

Do I need permit for roof replacement?

Depending on the size and scope of your roof replacement project, you may or may not need a permit. Generally speaking, roof replacements that involve changing the pitch or slope of the roof, or that result in a significant increase in roof height, will require a permit. Additionally, if your roof replacement includes removing more than a certain percentage of the existing roofing material, you may also need a permit. To be sure, it’s always best to check with your local building department to find out what permits are required for your specific project. Obtaining the necessary permits may take some time and effort, but it’s important to make sure that your roof replacement is done according to code. Not only will this help to ensure the safety of your home, but it could also save you money in the long run.

Should I stay home during roof replacement?

When it comes to roof replacement, there are a few things to consider. First of all, roof replacement can be a noisy process. If you have young children or simply want to avoid the noise, it may be best to stay elsewhere during roof replacement. Secondly, roof replacement can generate a lot of debris. If you have pets or sensitive allergies, it may be best to stay away from the house during roof replacement in order to avoid any irritation. Lastly, roof replacement typically takes several days to complete. If you need to be in and out of your house during that time, it may be best to make other arrangements. Ultimately, the decision of whether or not to stay home during roof replacement is up to you. However, it is important to keep the above factors in mind when making your decision.

When to repair roof?

A roof is one of the most important components of a house, and it is important to keep it in good repair. There are a few signs that indicate it is time to repair your roof. First, if you notice any leaks, it is time to patch things up. Second, if you see any loose or missing shingles, it is also time to make repairs. Third, if your roof is more than 20 years old, it may be time to replace it entirely. While roof repairs can be costly, they are often worth the investment in the long run. A well-maintained roof will help protect your home from the elements and keep your family safe and dry.

How much does roof repair cost?

Roof repair costs will depend on the size and type of roof, as well as the extent of the damage. For example, a small leak may be able to be repaired with a sealant for around $200, while a more serious problem may require replacing the entire roof, which can cost upwards of $10,000. In general, it is best to consult with a roofing professional to get an accurate estimate of the repairs needed. They will be able to inspect the roof and determine the best course of action.
